Being the age I am, I was born into a world that had no television, no computers. Women were homemakers and men earned a living. Women were pretty much not taken too seriously. A man was happy to have their woman at home cooking and cleaning and raising the children.

Then years later, along came the television, the mobile phone, the computer. Slowly but surely, our screens became the centre of our universes. We could now talk to anyone we wanted, anytime, anywhere.
We could watch our television programs, the television hosts, newsreaders, the actors and actresses who were and are groomed immaculately – they wear the latest fashion and they are beautiful and thin.
The fashion industry boomed like never before, we were engulfed with the very best, the glamorous, the prettiest, the perfect, how we should look, how we should act, what we should wear.
We couldn’t get enough of it! The more our screens gave us, the more we wanted.
Then reality television and social media hit the scene. We could comment, we suddenly became screen bullies, we hid behind our shiny screens, and tore down anyone who did not conform.
We have turned ourselves inside out, to the point we are at today.
We are all responsible, myself included. I have listened to social bullies all my life and I have become exactly what today’s haters love to comment on.
Well No More!
The difference between me and the nasty people of this world is that I have human decency and manners. When the haters have howled me down to either make themselves feel better or to show off to their group of so-called mates, I have taken their comments in and crawled another step further from the light.
However, what if the tables turned and I pointed out their nasty, sick, miserable existence of hating and bullying their way through the world? Could they take it?
I find that the ‘Bullies and Haters’ shouldn’t throw stones! They are usually the last people on earth who should pass comment! What if we, the down-trodden, found our inner strength and suggested to them to look in the mirror?
Maybe it’s time we stood up for ourselves and took control of our dignity and celebrated our differences, for we are the part of society that I love and am proud to be a member of.
We are the cool kids! We have hearts and smiles the rest of the world misses.
Join me, and let that beautiful person that you are, break free of society’s, labels and hate. Trust me, you are beautiful, you matter and I SEE YOU.
Be kind to yourself
Love Big Fat Dee
